Well I can tell you that this was by far the hardest event I have attempted so far! As I stood with my wave at the start line the lake looked HUGE! 1.2 miles is a long way, and the swim is definitely my weakest sport. I came out of the water in 41 minutes. I ran up to the transition area and grabbed my bike. The ride was definitely the nicest part for me. The route was very pretty and I felt great. I finished the 56 miles in 2 hours 48 minutes. Several minutes faster than I had hoped. I was happy to be running but the temperature was already up to over 90F. A lot of people were definitely struggling with the heat. Volunteers were handing out sponges soaked in ice water and people were spraying with water hoses as we ran past their cabins. I managed to keep running the whole way walking only thru the water stations so as to ensure I drank gatorade and water every time. I finished the 13.1 miles in hours and 1 minute...yahoo! My overall time was 5 hours and 40 minutes, which I was VERY pleased with. I placed 655 overall and 27th within the 91 girls in my age group. All of my friends Dave, Vicki, Joel, Ines, Michelle and Roy also finished so it was a good day all round.
